Crisis averted and SC Vacation, part deux

Hey y'all, and thanks for being so good not to rag me for the lack o' posts.

BDB and Knight were especially good to me regarding a recent personal/professional crisis while I was down to Dixie. In my mind, advice should only be dispensed when called upon by the would-be recipient. And even then, advice should be defined as these guys defined it for me: intelligent and thoughful questioning that may or may not lead to an absolute conclusion. In this case, I was also lucky to be accompanied by an equally thoughtful and intelligent Lovely Young Woman who was so INCREDIBLY sensitive and supportive to me while standing in the cross-hairs of this big decision. Such calm and objective wisdom from someone personally entrenched in the situation herself. She was, and is, "sumthin' else." I wouldn't say that this was a mid-life crisis, but potentially life altering for sure*. It was very comforting to have great people around me. Thanks, y'all.

The LYW and I went to So.Car. for a little R&R and meeting of the family. We "did" (huh, huh) the state from top to bottom. LYW actually met a fellow orchestra teacher from Spartanburg through her Master's program this summer, so we visited her in the Upstate. Then over three days in the Midlands, we met Mom, Dad, and countless family; we saw the sights of Cola-town and Lexington (it's called Lake Murray); and pretty much ate home cookin' non-stop. We finished our Palmetto tour with a 3 day stay in the jewel that is Charleston. Please go if you never have. There's enough history, museums, restaurants, and golf to cure what ails you back home. We took in a plantation, shopped "The Market," dodged rain while walking Rainbow Row and the Battery, saw friends, and again, we ate alot. All in all, a nice trip. And for Seinfeld fans, this was no weekend in Vermont.

*I'll share more info if you'd like on an individual basis.

Mail me, my friend. While having no reason to know what it is, I bet I have a clue.
